The Effects of Digital eHealth Versus Onsite 2-Day Group-Based Education in 255 Patients With Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Cohort Study

The Effects of Digital eHealth Versus Onsite 2-Day Group-Based Education in 255 Patients With Irritable Bowel Syndrome: Cohort Study

Second, a physiotherapist was giving a lecture on body posture and breathing techniques including demonstrations, introducing pain physiology, and the function of the human nervous system (3 hours).

Capabilities for Using Telemonitoring in Physiotherapy Treatment: Exploratory Qualitative Study

Capabilities for Using Telemonitoring in Physiotherapy Treatment: Exploratory Qualitative Study

The data is collected without the physiotherapist physically seeing the patient.” Each participant was asked to individually answer 2 questions: “On a scale of 1‐10, to what extent are you supporting E-health applications in physiotherapy?“ and “How do you think TM is currently used in practice?,” before engaging in group discussion. Focus groups followed a semistructured interview guide (Multimedia Appendix 1), using open-ended questions directed towards the topics of interest.

Usage, Attitudes, Facilitators, and Barriers Toward Digital Health Technologies in Musculoskeletal Care: Survey Among Primary Care Physiotherapists in Norway

Usage, Attitudes, Facilitators, and Barriers Toward Digital Health Technologies in Musculoskeletal Care: Survey Among Primary Care Physiotherapists in Norway

Among Norwegian patients with MSDs, about 30% have annual contact with primary health care services and 5% to 9% with a physiotherapist [2]. The aging population and expected increase in MSDs threaten the sustainability of the health care system [6,7]. To counteract this unsustainable burden on the health care system, and maintain and improve universal health coverage, increased use of digital health technologies has been suggested as a viable solution [7,8].

Revolutionizing Care: Unleashing the Potential of Digital Health Technology in Physiotherapy Management for People With Cystic Fibrosis

Revolutionizing Care: Unleashing the Potential of Digital Health Technology in Physiotherapy Management for People With Cystic Fibrosis

Consequently, physiotherapy management of CF and the specialist CF physiotherapist must adapt [3]. There is a growing body of evidence supporting examples where physiotherapy has benefited from digital health technologies (DHTs), primarily existing in the management of musculoskeletal [4] or neurological issues [5,6].

Understanding the Sociocultural Challenges and Opportunities for Affordable Wearables to Support Poststroke Upper-Limb Rehabilitation: Qualitative Study

Understanding the Sociocultural Challenges and Opportunities for Affordable Wearables to Support Poststroke Upper-Limb Rehabilitation: Qualitative Study

The interviews covered similar topics to physiotherapist interviews: their experiences with rehabilitation, their preferences, and their use of technology in this context. The research was approved by ethics committees at North South University and Cardiff University (COMSC/Ethics/2021/025). Consent forms for Bangladeshi participants were available in Bengali and English and for the British participants, only in English.

Efficacy of Neck-Specific Exercise With Internet Support Versus Neck-Specific Exercise at a Physiotherapy Clinic in Chronic Whiplash-Associated Disorders: Multicenter Randomized Controlled Noninferiority Trial

Efficacy of Neck-Specific Exercise With Internet Support Versus Neck-Specific Exercise at a Physiotherapy Clinic in Chronic Whiplash-Associated Disorders: Multicenter Randomized Controlled Noninferiority Trial

A few visits to a physiotherapist can help patients with WAD safely perform the exercises and may be important for reducing pain-related fear of movement. We hypothesized that NSE delivered via the internet (IT) with 4 visits to the physiotherapist (NSEIT) was noninferior to NSE (24 physiotherapist visits). This was based on the expectation that NSEIT would be sufficient to gain the same improvements in disability as NSE is reported to have in previous studies [10,11,15,16].

An Online Dual-Task Cognitive and Motor Exercise Program for Individuals With Parkinson Disease (PD3 Move Program): Acceptability Study

An Online Dual-Task Cognitive and Motor Exercise Program for Individuals With Parkinson Disease (PD3 Move Program): Acceptability Study

The program was led by a physiotherapist with expertise in PD and cognitive training, as well as with experience in building and implementing community dual- and multitask programs in PD. The program was delivered in 2 (1-hour) group sessions per week for 16 weeks. The program consisted of combining cognitive exercises projected on a dynamic Zoom background, with participants responding with physical and vocal exercises.

Playfully Assessing Lower Extremity Selective Voluntary Motor Control in Children With Cerebral Palsy: Psychometric Study

Playfully Assessing Lower Extremity Selective Voluntary Motor Control in Children With Cerebral Palsy: Psychometric Study

We used the validated German version of the SCALE [17], and it was always rated by the same physiotherapist based on a video recording. As a second comparator measure, we used the GMFCS, which classifies the functional abilities and limitations in the gross motor function of children with CP, emphasizing on sitting, transfers, and mobility [18]. It focuses on the children’s performance in their habitual environment rather than their capacity in a standardized setting.
