The use of new technologies, such as telemedicine, digitized systems, and social networks, could enhance the management and control of T2 DM [12-20]. Unfortunately, there are still many barriers to the adoption of digital health tools in clinical practice [19]. In addition, the information currently available about the impact of the application of e Health solutions or social networks for patients with T2 DM remains insufficient in Spain [20,21].

Delivering VRET over telemedicine may provide patients with highly engaging and immersive treatment with greater accessibility [39]. Telemedicine-based VR may also address lingering barriers to TMH by expanding the experience of therapeutic alliance and presence. Therapeutic alliance, or working alliance, refers to the extent to which a patient and therapist experience a collaborative and trusting relationship [40,41] and is among the strongest predictors of outcomes in mental health care [42,43].

Given these barriers, telemedicine emerges as a pivotal tool to address the challenges of adherence and accessibility. Providing follow-up through telemedicine technologies has been identified as an effective alternative to mitigate barriers to accessing Pr EP dispensing services and, consequently, ensuring the continuity of prevention.
