Effect of Spatial Disorientation in a Virtual Environment on Gait and Vital Features in Patients with Dementia: Pilot Single-Blind Randomized Control Trial

Challenges in wayfinding and orientation are early symptoms of people with mild cognitive impairment (MCI) or dementia. These deficits decrease mobility [1,2] and social interaction [3,4] of the affected people, which in turn may lead to further cognitive decline. Assistive technology devices (ATDs) can help reduce the burden of spatial disorientation by providing interventions (eg, by giving cues to the patients).
