The technology system included a barcode reader, a series of 10 barcodes, a smartphone, and a special app that controlled the smartphone’s delivery of different types of messages (instructions) for the participants. A mini speaker and headphones were also available. The implementation of barcode information management systems (BIMS) in clinical practice is widely recognized as a method to enhance health care quality and safety [1]. BIMS replaces manual processes, thereby improving efficiency, quality management, and reducing costs [2]. They are used for patient identification, medication administration, and specimen transportation, contributing to reduced nursing turnover and increased patient satisfaction [3-5].
