The study population was predominantly female and of White British/Irish ethnicity, which also limits the generalizability of the findings to more diverse populations as cultural, socioeconomic, and gender differences may influence engagement and weight loss outcomes. Thus, the impact of restricted access to technology and potential barriers to preventing engagement from a health equity perspective must be considered in future studies and policymaking.
